Brief History of Oak Grove Seventh-day Adventist Church
The inspiration to establish a church, ministering to the needs of the Fort Campbell and surrounding communities, began in October 1998. As members of the Clarksville SDA Church, Elders William Soto and Tony Alexander (retired soldiers) saw the need to provide a place of worship for soldiers, their families, and those residing near the military post.
In July 1999, after meetings with the members of the church board, the Kentucky/Tennessee Conference Executive Committee granted permission to begin the Maranatha Mission in Oak Grove, Kentucky. The mission held its first worship service on September 18, 1999!
The following year the mission became the Maranatha Company and in February 2002 the company was established as a church
In July 2002, 10 acres of land were purchased for the purpose of constructing worship and educational facilities. With unwavering support and generous donations, the land was completely paid for by July 2004. Thanks be to God!
In 2005 the Maranatha Baptist Church of Oak Grove and Maranatha SDA church began experiencing mail issues and in 2005 the Maranatha Seventh Day Adventist Church was renamed Oak Grove Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Over the years, many souls have been brought to Christ, many soldiers have passed through our weigh station and due to our location, many truckers have also been blessed.
Future Plans
For the past 4 years, we have been focused on building a much needed academy and a child development center (there are no schools in the City of Oak Grove). At 9:00am on September 20, 2009, by God’s matchless grace, members of the church broke ground for a 15,900 square feet facility which will be the first phase of the Oak Grove Academy SDA Campus. When completed, the campus will contain the Oak Grove Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Oak Grove Academy, a Child Development Center, a Serviceman’s Center, and other industries to support the Oak Grove Academy.

When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.
When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.
Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.
